Ampthill Town CouncilOn 30th March 2007, Ampthill Town Council provided the following information:
Ampthill Town Council is responsible for the main car parks in Ampthill and there are currently no restrictions on parking in The Sands car park, off Woburn Street, Ampthill. However, this particular car park is usually full in the daytime with local office workers etc and used in the evenings by local residents. The main public car park in the town centre is owned by the Town Council but managed by the newly constructed Waitrose store. There are a limited number of 4hr stay places and the remainder is short stay at 2hrs, this is a shoppers/visitor car park and can be used when using any of the local shops, facilities etc in the town centre area.
The car park laybys in Woburn Street and Bedford Street are also available for general parking but these are controlled by Bedfordshire County Council. There are no restrictions on these bays.
The nearest public conveniences are situated in the main public car park in the town centre and there are no height restrictions in any of the car parks or laybys. There are no specific waste disposal facilities other than general litter bins. There is a household waste recycling centre located in Ampthill which is owned and managed by the County Council.
There are no specific car park spaces for motorhomes and/or caravans and the laybys in Woburn Street do not contain white lined bays at present.
Local websites for Ampthill are Ampthill Town Council and Ampthill - Past, Present & Future which some motorhome drivers may find useful when and if visiting Ampthill.

Flitwick Town CouncilOn 29th March 2007, Flitwick Town Council provided the following information:
Unfortunately the only car park that the Town council is responsible for is for "shoppers" and we are only permitted to open this Monday to Saturday between 8.30 am and 6.30 pm, therefore would not be available for you to use. I am unaware of any such parking facilities in Flitwick, as at the present time we are having many parking problems with commuters parking in the streets due to lack of parking.
Gravenhurst Parish CouncilOn 21st April 2007, Gravenhurst Parish Council provided the following information: The car park is located behind the village hall and designed primarily for village hall and recreation ground use. There is no charge and no height restriction. The car park has marked bays. There is no water or provision for disposal of waste. I do not think there would be any objection to somebody parking a motorhome there for one night if visiting a friend in the village, but the car park is not really intended for that use.

Sandy Town Council owns the large Town Centre surface car park here in Sandy. It has approx. 100 spaces. At this moment in time parking is free but that will be changing shortly to limited stay and pay and display due to overcrowding and over use.
